Process

Simple, from first message to final delivery.

Working with an independent developer shouldn't require a project manager. Here's how every engagement works.

01

Discovery

~15–30 min

A short call to understand what you're building, why it matters, and what success looks like. No pressure, no pitch — just a conversation to figure out if we're a good fit.

  • Understand your goals and constraints
  • Clarify scope and any existing work
  • Talk through timeline and budget range
  • Agree on next steps

02

Proposal

Within 48 hrs

Based on the discovery call, I'll put together a written proposal with a clear scope, deliverables, pricing, and timeline. Fixed-price for defined projects, hourly for ongoing work.

  • Detailed scope of work
  • Fixed or hourly pricing options
  • Project timeline with milestones
  • Payment terms and contract

03

Build

Ongoing

Work begins. I keep you informed without overwhelming you — regular async updates, staged deliveries, and check-ins at key milestones. You see real progress, not just a final result at the end.

  • Async-friendly communication (Slack, email, or your tool of choice)
  • Regular progress updates and milestone reviews
  • Feedback rounds built into the timeline
  • Transparent issue tracking and decision log

04

Handoff

Project close

At the end of every project, you get everything you need to own and operate what was built. Clean code, clear documentation, and a proper handoff — not a dropped zip file.

  • Full source code in your repository
  • Documentation for setup, deployment, and ongoing maintenance
  • Walkthrough session if needed
  • 90-day support window for questions and minor fixes

What about ongoing or retainer work?

For agency contracting or longer-term engagements, we skip the formal proposal and move to a simple monthly agreement. Same communication style, same standards — just a rolling arrangement instead of a fixed project scope.
